CAREGIVER NOTE:
ER follow-up with the dr yesterday. Dr decided to change up some meds a bit and was very good about explaining things to him in a way that he could understand at least while we were there. He didn’t remember the “talk” last night when I was giving him his night meds. So it looks like we’ll be explaining why he has to “drink” one of his meds now and do it 3 times a day.
He was in pretty good spirits yesterday – hoping that holds again today and through the rest of the weekend.

CAREGIVER NOTE:
Yesterday was a sad sort of day. He couldn’t tell me the reason for his sadness, but we knew. It was the anniversary of his wife’s death. By evening, he was doing much better and felt calm and peace as if he’d come to terms with the loss again — 8 years doesn’t make it any easier, that’s for sure.
Be your own beautiful you every day.
Make the world a better place.
CAREGIVER NOTE:
We spent Thanksgiving evening in the ER – he was experiencing some chest pain, but no other symptoms of a heart attack. After bloodwork to check for enzymes that would indicate an attack and ruling that out, as well as pneumonia, he was discharged with the pain being attributed to reflux. Which really isn’t too surprising since one of the meds he had been taking before the choking on a pill episode was a horse pill for reflux. He’s refused to take it since that trip to the ER as he’s afraid he’ll choke on it again. So Tums or Maalox it is for the time being and an appointment with his Primary Care Physician so be set up to determine next steps.
