going out with a friend for a couple of hours next week
started volume 7 of the series I’m reading yesterday – there’s a volume 9 releasing in early 2027.

Our Journey Notes:
T’s appointment with the eye dr was a disappointment. Eye pressure in the left eye is up again. The eye is healing from the surgeries, but the shunt isn’t working as well as it should. So he’s back on two eye drops for a month to see if that will drop things sufficiently to maintain a safe level of the IOP. We sure hope so – because until that’s stable, they won’t do anything to help his right eye. We’d really hoped he’d have some new glasses now, but that’s not how things are going.

I sent a message to my dr — had a few questions after reading the visit notes…. should hear back from him today or on Monday at the latest. He’s been really good to follow up on all messages within 72 hours — I get most of mine within 24 hours or so.

Our Journey Notes:
A different approach to the yearly physical — but it was a better one overall. We did discuss the outcomes of all the bloodwork and there were no abnormalities or red flags in those, so some of the things they have focused on are way down the list or crossed off all together — he thinks the specialists will opt for an approach that leans towards structural rather than moving to a neurological approach to help with the cervical spine issues discovered in the June MRI. My appointment to discuss that is next week. He recommended continuing with the exercises from PT and indicated that since the Lhermitte’s is happening more frequently that they may decide to do a Lumbar MRI to see if there’s another kink in the spinal cord.

Our Journey Notes:
I have an appointment — the nudge worked and a heck of a lot faster this go time around! And I was able to get in before the end of the month. Will be seeing the PA again since an appointment with the dr required another month’s wait.

Message from the specialist’s office: “Forwarding your message to the team now; we’ll reach out… when we have updates.” And there are some insurance issues — I will have to have the referral process started over in order to see anyone in the office again from the sound of things.

vaccinations for the year are completed

Our Journey Notes:
Got the final vaccination shots for the year taken care of yesterday. Mission accomplished and checked off the to have done list before visit with PCP in 2 weeks. This go round, no real problem with either. No significant swelling at either site and no down in bed for 12+ hours after, just a little soreness at the injection sites. Definitely good with that.

Still nothing from the specialists’ office —

Our Journey Note:
T was able to read the hymnal numbers at the front of the chapel. That’s a YAY!
He was able to read a few of the words of the hymns on the ipad (I’ve got the settings for type set as high as they will go) It’s just not quite enough. Might have to consider getting a magnifier screen for the ipad… and see if that helps. If it does, I might test the ebook app and see if it works for him there.

Holiday here in the states…. so no communication with the drs anticipated today — and likely not tomorrow either. Maybe, by Thursday…. Flu shot on Wednesday morning this week.

so Day 5 has passed – no one from the specialists’ office has reached out via phone or messaging within the app and with it being a long holiday weekend, I’m sure the callback list will be much longer on Tuesday. Grateful all of the testing was within the norms — but still have worries about previous findings and what next steps are.
