the beauty within

“The appearance of things change according to the emotions, and thus we see magic and beauty in them, while the magic and beauty are really in ourselves.” –Kahlil Gibran

What will you choose to see today?  Will you allow yourself to see the beauty that is or will you be pressed by the negativity of the day and only see the covering of the book and not look beyond and miss what may unfold in the pages between?  There is so much more for us to see and behold — we so often miss it because we get caught up in what’s going wrong in the moment.  Stop and reset.  Look for the good, the great, the beautiful!  It’s there and glistening and waiting for us to reach out and grab hold of it. Do you see it?  Ah, you do…. Enjoy!

Yesterday, a friend shared the following video with me… I want to share it with you.  It’s well worth your 15 minutes of time.  I hope you’ll find a good read this week and discover the “beauty within” the covers of a book as well.

One of the miracles in using Nurtured Heart Approach™   is that not only do our children and co-workers benefit from the use of the tools and techniques of Greatness, but we as adults are often the first to “flip and transform.” We can’t help it! Keep going! It’s a beautiful journey.

Take the next 60 seconds and honor yourself for the choices you’ve created and achieved so far today.

“Be yourself.  Everyone else is already taken.”  – Unknown

How often do we find ourselves falling in the trap of wanting to be just like “so-and-so”  or admiring the traits and talents of our friends and colleagues?  Hold on! Don’t fall into that pit – remember if you see the traits you admire  in others you already “own” them.  It’s up to you then to magnify them.  BE THEM.  No one else can do the same justice to them as you can.  BE YOU!  They are your gifts, your talents.

Your challenge:
Take an inventory of your traits and talents
How are you using them?  Are you using them?
What can you do to magnify those traits and talents you want to develop or are under-developed?

NOTE:  If you find this challenge difficult, begin with listing 3, 5 or 10 positive traits, attributes or talents you have (or admire in others – remember, if you see them in others, you have ownership of them).

“Each life is like a letter of the alphabet.  Alone it can be meaningless; or it can be a part of a great(er) meaning.”  – Unknown

Something I have noticed over the years is that there is an increase in caring, concern and love between those who are directly influenced by the application of Nurtured Heart Approach™.  You can’t help but have that happen because your heart is more in tune with what is going on and you see more through your heart – feel more – are more.

Be Present

“… To me every hour of night and day is a a miracle, Every
cubic inch of space a miracle.”  Walt Whitman

There was a time when I overlooked those first breaths of the day or even opening my eyes.  But not any more.  What a blessing and a miracle each of those are in my life.  I am truly blessed to be present every day to honor those again and again and be thankful that I can witness them another day.  While this may seem a bit trite to some — how often do we marvel at the beauty of a sunset or rainbow? Do we think we’ll never see one again?  Have we witnessed the colors of a rainbow over and over and yet, thanked the heavens for the beauty and run for a camera in hopes we’ll capture it knowing that we’ll never ever see that exact formation or those colors in just that way again, even if we stood in the same place again at the same time on the same day a year  from now.

Now is your moment. Be present for the miracles that are all around you today.
