The computer was a draw yesterday. He actually played his Train game on the computer for a while, and made progress in the game. There wasn’t much frustration during his screen time and he was thrilled that “it all came back” as he continued to play and then save the game for the next session which I imagine might be as early as today.

Find the things that bring them joy and provide opportunities for them to continue to experience them.
He’s looked through the seed catalogs, decided which veggies he wants to try this year and we’re just about ready for beginning the seedlings that will be transplanted into containers and the garden beds later this spring. He really enjoyed the hydroponic garden we started last year and the cherry tomatoes that lasted through New Year’s. Plans are to maintain a small container garden year round this year.

CAREGIVER NOTE:
Our practice of finding something positive is paying off. I no longer need to “fish” for an answer, because he can provide quite a few at a time. As he was walking out of his bedroom yesterday and I noticed he was favoring one side as he took the next step. He piped up with, “I’m walking on my own two feet and that feels good.” His smile was broad and genuine.
