My Journey notes:
Lists, lists and more lists and alarms too. All to help me stay on track. So far, things are working. It’s taking me longer to do some creative things, but there have been a few that have been easy to complete and not have to review steps or write out step by step details.
Keeping a journal now too. Hopefully, this will help me track things more closely and for my family to understand how things are going/progressing as we review things. Next dr’s appointment is in March. If things are moving forward and there is additional concern by immediate family, we’ll ask for the referral to the neurologist for further testing.

It’s New Year’s Day!
Traditions held true again last evening. We shifted from virgin pina coladas to virgin strawberry daiquiris. So yummy when we added some frozen strawberries into the mix. Movies to close out the day and listen to the fireworks boom and light the sky until shortly after midnight.
Freshly baked muffins to start the morning with a cup of hot chocolate or apple cider. Rose Parade and possibly a football game while munching on the edibles that will fill the kitchen island throughout the day.
New Year’s Eve
Lessons learned about goal setting over the years include:
Break resolutions/goals down into manageable steps for greater success.
From your list of goals for the year, start with just one or two; once those have been achieved pick another goal to work on.
Most Importantly: Don’t try to work on the whole list all at once — set yourself up for success, not failure.

Make the best of every day you have.
As the year comes to a close, it’s been a bit difficult to wrap my head around all the changes…. and the grieving continues. Some days are harder than others, but then again, there are some days that are lighter and a little easier to deal with. Today’s thought is more for me, I think. It resonates and hopefully, I’ll be able to find the best in today and every day as it comes.
I looked through some pictures we took over the last year and it was fun to see the smiles, remember the moments, cry a little and take lots of deep breaths. 2024 was definitely a memorable one.
