Month: July 2025

make the most of each ‘today!

3 Positives:
got caught up on a few things
enjoyed a little sunshine before it got too hot
got a little reading time in

My Journey Notes:
If it’s not on the list…. yep, it won’t get done! Things have to be on the list, calendar, somewhere visual – if it’s not, well, it’s unfinished history. We were running through the important dates for August yesterday and there’s evidently a birthday I’d forgotten about. So now that’s back on the calendar in my studio so I’ve got a visual reminder. I have a list of cards to get done in the next few days so they’re ready for delivery and mailing – today’s a good day to work on them, I think.

make your own joy

3 Positives:
Spent a portion of the day catching up on a few editing chores that had been way down the list for a while
The 3 R’s: Read, rested, relaxed
Tidied up the downstairs pantry a bit

My Journey notes:
Still in the insomnia cycle… hoping tonight is the last night of being awake for most of it and we can get back into a good night’s sleep pattern again. Barometer is doing it’s thing… up, down, holding and repeat. It would be nice if it held in one place for a couple of days – the migraines have been coming in waves the last couple of weeks.

I believe in you.

3 Positives:
Apricots are done for the season — 8.5 pints of nectar now ready to go on the shelf
Design cut and assembled. Turned out kind of cute.
Fun conversation with a long distance friend.

My Journey Notes:
Major migraine yesterday afternoon as a storm blew in – and then it was back on the insomnia cycle. Not my favorite thing. Did get some matting updated for an upcoming project and spent some time reading during those awake hours. Down side is being tired at starting the day after 3 hours of sleep. Hopefully tonight will be better.

Be enough

3 Positives:
Nearly finished up canning a bushel of apricots – just the nectar to bottle and process today
Lovely time sitting on the deck last evening
A stir fried zucchini and summer squash dished up at dinner last night — a true taste of summer!

My Journey Notes:
Making a note on my electronic calendar for Feb of next year — make appointment to renew IDs. One place takes nearly 3 months to get an appointment currently and the other requires 3 weeks and neither can have expired before your appointment or you have to bring in the “bundle of paperwork” to prove who you are. It’s crazy! At least I do have all the paperwork gathered in a folder and it’s on my desk so it won’t get lost! And as of today, the state legislature hasn’t banned mail in voting which our county does — so we’ll see how that goes next year for mid-terms.
