Find a smile today and reflect on the why at the end of the day.
CAREGIVER NOTE:
Reframe, reframe, reframe.
What’s your default setting? Grounded in negativity or soaring to positivity and possibilities?
CAREGIVER NOTE:
Vivid dreams returned overnight. He didn’t call out, just got up, turned on the light and went back to bed. Problem resolved and no more “visitors” as he calls them. He did mention they were animals, but not menacing ones.
Give life a reason to be good today.
CAREGIVER NOTE:
Too hot (triple digit temps) to be outside for any length of time. One quick trip around the driveway was enough of a walk. Lots of stories about his property and the improvements he made. He did enjoy a few phone calls, though disappointed that he wasn’t able to get through to another. Seemed at peace by bedtime (no sundowning) and slept through the night.
Adjust the altitude of your attitude. Look up.
CAREGIVER NOTE:
The “worry” cloud was back overnight, but an earlier phone call kept things from getting too out of hand. He was complaining of some discomfort in his hip — but some of that was to be anticipated since he was refusing to use the walker for most of the day.
Give it your all in getting there.
CAREGIVER NOTE:
Lots of stories of days gone by… told with lots of gusto! Good spirits until sundown and another “worry” niggling at him. About an hour for him to sort it all out and make a plan to take care of it tomorrow when the sun comes up. Grateful that this answer was an easy one and manageable to achieve.
