Alzheimer’s/Dementia

Trust the journey

3 Positives:
a lovely long call with a dear friend
time in the studio to finish a project AND clean up the mess 🙂
all first of the month bills have been paid

Our Journey Notes:
T is really hoping for some good news next week as his next post-op follow up. Fingers crossed, and continued prayers that he’ll be seeing a little better in both eyes. Things are still a tad bit blurry in the right eye with or without glasses.

The to-do list for the week is nearly complete. Just a few more things left to take care of today and we can start on the lists for next week. My calendar is looking pretty full already as I make notes of what we need to take care of.

friendships

3 Positives:
a little bit of sunshine after the rain and snow
a new book to read
time in the studio

Our Journey Notes:
T’s appointment brought some good news yesterday. Stopping all but 2 eyedrops and eye pressure in the right eye is right where it needs to be and the left eye dropped 6 points after a stitch was removed. Another 5 points down and it will be exactly where the surgeon is hoping to keep it. He also stated that it was possible that a little vision in the left eye may improve, giving T some hope. Fingers crossed and more prayers being said.

Insomnia is rearing it’s ugly head again. 1.5 hours of sleep overnight. Yep…. Might need a power nap or two today. I’d hoped the change in med dosage would help with that, but it is helping with a few of the other symptoms I’d been experiencing. I know that I have more difficulties with memory when I don’t get adequate sleep… so hopefully, this will be a short cycle.

hope

3 Positives:
over an inch of rain – no thunder or lightning
rainy day foods
reading time

My Journey Notes:
I’ve added a couple of things to my daily and weekly lists in the last 48 hours. We’ll see how that addition plays out moving forward. The lists really do help me keep things organized and be productive. Today requires some time in the studio working out a problem with a design and hopefully, will be resolved and the project completed by tomorrow – a day before the deadline. Fingers crossed.

you aren’t alone.

3 Positives:
success in the studio yesterday – blog post coming soon.
laundry – washed, dried, folded, put away
time to read

My Journey Notes:
Doctor called yesterday morning about TSH test results. Making a change in dosage. Going down a notch, again. At least for 6 weeks and we’ll see where we are with another blood draw. Appointment for the 23rd still on the books for yearly physical.

continue with hope

3 Positives:
found an interesting document in a folder in a folder on the cloud during the wee hours – printed it to show T this morning
ministering cards ready for the mailbox
two birthday cards ready to mail and two more to go

Our Journey Notes:
Got a response back from the doctor yesterday. Lab orders should be ready this morning.
Insomnia cycle has come back. 2nd night in a row now. Ugh! Gonna take a nap a little later this morning. We’ll see what the numbers are and go from there making adjustments if needed.

T has a procedure this morning. He has to go to a different office this morning to have it done. Let’s hope it goes as planned. No sedation, just some numbing. The dr says it might be a little uncomfortable.

Thank you…

3 Positives:
the power of prayer
blessings
rain

My Journey Notes:
T’s first post-op appt went about as planned. T does have another procedure scheduled for Thursday on the good eye as the flap is sticking a bit. We met another man that had a similar surgery done on Monday at the doctor’s office. He’s had 4 surgeries on the same eye in the last month. He’s had 2 Trebulectomy’s on his eye – adding a second drain to help relieve the pressure. I guess we should consider ourselves blessed so far. Only one drain in each eye, though numerous procedures post surgery to keep the flap open in the right eye. This will be ongoing from what I’ve been reading lately. Hoping new lenses in the glasses will help with some improved vision once stability in both eyes is established. And T is down to 4 different eyedrops a day — from 6 now. We just refilled a couple so we’re good to go for a while and have a stash in the fridge now in case the extras are resumed at any time in the near future.
