Month: May 2025

trust

My Journey Notes:
Official release from the surgeon yesterday. They declined to do the follow up monitoring (as indicated in my initial appointment with them) and told me to go back to my primary dr for monitoring. That was the only unanticipated outcome. He brought an entourage with him (two interns and his tech); went over the pathology report and was happy with his handiwork — the scar will hardly be visible once it’s finished healing. It will actually be thinner than the previous scar.

Med ordered and picked up after a slight delay at the pharmacy, but only another 30 day fill — and I’m sure that another visit to the lab for more blood work in a month is on tap to make sure levels are good and get another 30 day refill. So back to the doctor in a couple of weeks to establish that monthly routine with his office.

Brain fog and lack of focus have been pretty much the center of attention the last few days. I’m sure lack of sleep is a BIG contributor at this point. I’d sure like to get a full night’s sleep without the every two hour wake up and/or the unable to go back to sleep elements of my night.

3 good things from yesterday:
Spent some time with my oldest daughter
Finished up 20 “thank you” cards and bagged cookies for delivery as promised
All post surgery restrictions have been lifted

be kind

My Journey Notes:
Meeting with the ENT surgeon today. Final post-op appointment; then monitoring levels monthly until the levels are where they should be and stabilized. Pretty sure a new prescription of an upped dosage will be sent to the pharmacy. Hormone levels are very low still and the side effects are pretty prominent in several ways. Hoping things will level out sooner rather than later as it’s getting difficult to focus and sleep is pretty elusive most nights.

24 hours

My Journey Notes:
Good thing I have an appointment early next week. Thyroid hormone levels definitely aren’t where they need to be. Yesterday was a really bad day — as far as being able to focus and concentrate on getting things done. Doing the laundry took 8+ hours to complete instead of the normal 4. I was still folding laundry at 9 pm and it’s usually done by 2.

I’ve got a project I need to work on today — and I’m really hoping my concentration levels will be better today than yesterday — but if not, it’s going to take a couple of extra days to accomplish what needs to be done. It’s probably a good thing I’d built in a few extra days to get it completed by the deadline date. Wishing me luck today! 🙂
