be kind

My Journey Notes:
Meeting with the ENT surgeon today. Final post-op appointment; then monitoring levels monthly until the levels are where they should be and stabilized. Pretty sure a new prescription of an upped dosage will be sent to the pharmacy. Hormone levels are very low still and the side effects are pretty prominent in several ways. Hoping things will level out sooner rather than later as it’s getting difficult to focus and sleep is pretty elusive most nights.

24 hours

My Journey Notes:
Good thing I have an appointment early next week. Thyroid hormone levels definitely aren’t where they need to be. Yesterday was a really bad day — as far as being able to focus and concentrate on getting things done. Doing the laundry took 8+ hours to complete instead of the normal 4. I was still folding laundry at 9 pm and it’s usually done by 2.

I’ve got a project I need to work on today — and I’m really hoping my concentration levels will be better today than yesterday — but if not, it’s going to take a couple of extra days to accomplish what needs to be done. It’s probably a good thing I’d built in a few extra days to get it completed by the deadline date. Wishing me luck today! 🙂

ready for the next step?

My Journey Notes:
Back to the old sleeping pattern – at least for the last couple of nights. NOT GOOD! I was really enjoying being able to sleep for a good portion of the night without being up at o’dark thirty and not being able to go back to sleep. A nap will definitely be on the day’s agenda since I’ve been awake since 2:15 this morning. UGH!

What did go well yesterday, however:
To-do List for week created and a couple of things already checked off.
Main computer backed up and some extraneous files thrown out.
New cable added to printer and successful print made without any errors or hangups between the computer or printer.
Creative project cut and partially assembled. It’s looking good.

smile with your words

My Journey Notes:
Drain is out and today I should be able to do more side to side movement instead of having to turn my whole head to see something to the left or the right. No pathology report as of yesterday, but the tech said she should be able to have the report for Thursday’s appointment since I would be seeing her and the PA for the removal of the sutures. Then, I’ll be headed back again in another week or so for bloodwork to see where we are and if adjustments need to be made for the now missing thyroid and for the parathyroid levels which were a little lower than anticipated, but thankfully, I’m not showing any of the symptoms of low calcium.

On the funny side: Scared the pest control guy yesterday when I answered the door. He took a few steps back and wanted to know what had happened. His final words after reporting his visit was for me to rest and take care. Not sure if his look and response was much different than a few others at the dr’s office yesterday – though I felt sorry for the kids that were in the reception area. You just can’t hide the 5 inch line of stitches that run across the front of your neck.
