darkness before light

Amazing things are just around the corner.

CAREGIVER NOTE:

He picked out 2 new pairs of readers last evening after his visit with the eye specialist. He was pretty disappointed that they couldn’t do anything for his distance vision. He did seem a little more upbeat when we removed the glasses from their packaging and he put a pair on; checking to see if there was any difference while wearing them. He did notice a slight difference, but we’ll check things with his iPad today.

No talk of getting behind the wheel and driving last night. So that was a rabbit hole we didn’t have to avoid last night. Fingers crossed we won’t today or anytime soon.

10.12.22

The little things that are going right in this moment, may become the BIG things in the days to come.  Take note and enjoy the little things today.

CAREGIVER NOTE:

Celebrate the little things that do go right throughout the day. He remembered an incident from a few days ago of something that happened and wanted to relive that. It was a fun moment for both of us and led into a series of other stories.

9.28.22

Keep your heart open to ALL the possibilities.

CAREGIVER NOTE:

Confusion and dysregulation. Despite being in the same space, but my not being within his direct eyesight for a bit longer than usual, we saw some behaviors that haven’t been around for a long while. Once things were sorted out; his feelings expressed and validated, we were able to get things back on track and end on a good note.

soar

What’s your default setting?  Grounded in negativity or soaring to positivity and possibilities?

CAREGIVER NOTE:
Vivid dreams returned overnight. He didn’t call out, just got up, turned on the light and went back to bed. Problem resolved and no more “visitors” as he calls them. He did mention they were animals, but not menacing ones.

you are precious

Find the good.

CAREGIVER NOTE:

He was feeling good enough to go out to dinner last evening – his suggestion. Not sure if his meal disagreed with his digestive tract or what… but lots of tummy troubles overnight. Hopefully, the meds will work and today will be a more normal sort of day. Once again, he doesn’t want to rely on the walker for support, even though he has noticed that his gait is much smoother when he does use it and his hip is less likely to be bothering him at the end of the day. Hoping to get 2 trips around the cul-de-sac in today since we missed out yesterday.
