CAREGIVER NOTE:

New security system has been installed. So far, it’s a novelty to him, and he just asks a few questions here and there. Yesterday, he wanted to hear the doorbell. It’s very loud — we can hear it throughout the house. He likes the video thing too…. He thought that was cool. He hasn’t thought too much about going outside the last couple of days as it’s been rather chilly… but I do know there will be a day in the future that he may get out of the house for a little fresh air before I can catch him and we’ll be able to find him a little more quickly if that does happen.

CAREGIVER NOTE:

He learned that the house has been sold and all the t’s crossed and i’s dotted. The buyer starts moving in tomorrow. He’s not sure what to do now that he doesn’t have to worry about the house, property taxes, utility bills, etc. We didn’t realize how “big” those things were in his mind. Now to find something else to fill that space.

CAREGIVER NOTE:

Finding 3 positives was easy overnight. He named them quickly — no bad dreams, the shadows in the room didn’t scare him (and there were lots as the security lights were triggered frequently last night) and he was happy he had someone checking on him when they heard he was up. Earlier in the day he was excited about the progress being made on the handicap accessible deck — which he should be able to enjoy sitting on tomorrow while we still have some warm weather in the afternoon and early evening. He even switched on his table light to help me with a little more light while I applied the water shield to the decking joists last evening.
