Don’t forget…..

CAREGIVER NOTE:

Don’t forget to share what’s going right a few times as often as you can. When they opt in on a suggestion or are active for a little longer than you anticipated. Maybe even eat a food that isn’t on their top 10 list of what they generally eat or whatever. Bring a smile to their face and share freely. There’s no better prescription for having a good day than bringing a bit of light back their way. We had such an experience yesterday. There was pure joy in his face and he really seemed to enjoy an activity we hadn’t done for a couple of months and was a little disappointed when it ended. We’ll be repeating the activity again soon.

always a good one….

Be your best you.

CAREGIVER NOTE:

The “funk” has gone. He rediscovered his computer game and was able to successfully play it for a couple of hours. He was excited and hopefully, the new lighting in that area will continue to help with his fading eyesight. He still doesn’t want any assistive devices for his keyboard, so we’ll see how things roll out in the course of the next few weeks.

within your sight

What are you choosing to nurture?

CAREGIVER NOTE:

Too cold to be out and about,” he says — but he was more than happy that he made some progress on a computer game. He said it’s coming back to him. So letting him spend some time at the computer has been beneficial. We do need to find another chair, though. Not enough padding in the current one to prevent some discomfort after an extended period of time sitting. I’m also going to look into another keyboard for the visually impaired. He’s having a difficult time reading his current keyboard.
