3 Positives:
We have water for the garden again and I was able to reset the timers without help.
Made time for a little extra reading — and finished two short stories.
Got a sincere thank you from a friend.

My Journey Notes:
New dosage is helping to relieve some of the issues I went to the doctor for this past week. The weather has settled a bit so no need for the new migraine med yet, though headaches are still a part of the daily scene. Had a crazy bp reading yesterday. Hoping for a better one this afternoon. Time to start tackling the daily list. 😉

today’s thoughts

My Journey Notes:
Still healing — but the scabs are starting to fall off. Seeing a bit more skin/scar in the incision area, but not quite ready to go out into public. It’s definitely looking much better than it has the last two weeks. Next week I go in for labs to make sure the hormone levels are where they should be. Results should be in and reviewed before my appointment the following week with the surgeon.

Accomplished a lot on my “list” yesterday and since I’ve been up since the wee hours this morning, I’ve knocked off a few things on today’s list as well. So back to it!

Look for the beauty

My Journey Notes:
Home again after having to spend a post surgery overnighter at the surgery facility. Grateful for no complications and excellent care at every step there and no big problems when I got home. No pain meds since Thursday pm other than a 500 mg plain ol’ Tylenol as needed since coming home. I will be glad when the drain comes out on Monday, but it’s working as it should. New med on board and that will take a little adjustment since I can’t just lump it in with the rest of the morning bunch. Oh well. At least there’s a way to replace the hormone easily.

thoughts create emotions

My Journey Notes:
It’s been a sort of crazy week as we prep things for my surgery next week. 1st of the month bills paid, and there’s a bit of info for T and A to have just in case they need more details on things since I generally take care of the financial stuff for our household.

Grocery shopping is done and I think we’re pretty well stocked up on soft foods for a few days and stuff that is easy to fix for everyone else. Though, we’re still waiting for delivery of some fresh handmade tamales from a local source. Hoping they’ll get here today. I’d love to have tamales for dinner this evening!

I think the scariest thing about this upcoming surgery is how the anesthesia might impact things. I watched Dad deteriorate so quickly after his hip surgery last year and that’s really scary to me.

I’ve noticed that I’ve slowed down a lot in being able to get things done. It’s bugging me. I used to be able to put a whole stack of cards together in a few hours and now, it may take me a couple of days to finish that task. I figure close to 3 days now to get 20 cards made and in envelopes and that’s a card that doesn’t have lots of layers or fiddly details. I’m not sure I can attribute is solely to age, but getting distracted or forgetting where I was in the process seems to be more the culprit. We’ll see how this next card/project unfolds itself and all.

What’s your “tude” today?

My Journey Notes:
I’m guessing that it’s time to add my email accounts to the phone. I missed a couple of important messages and couldn’t respond because it was after office hours by the time I saw them. I’ll send a message back tomorrow evening so they’ll have my answer Monday morning.

The sleep chair arrived yesterday — It’s comfortable enough to sit in and recline, but not something I’ll want to spend a lot of nights on. Hoping recovery will be quick and I won’t need to isolate post surgery. But we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

close to yesterday’s post

My Journey Notes:
I did like meeting my new PCP yesterday. He was nice and had reviewed my chart and read the previous notes; made a few more during the appointment. We had a good visit before getting down to the brass tacks of why I was there.

Funny thing they’re in the same space that our previous dr was and the new dr has the same nurse. They’ve updated the rooms a little bit, but according to the nurse, no new clinic in the works at this time. I really hope they don’t move even though building is a little dated — it’s within walking distance (20 minutes) from the house and I like that it’s so close by car as well.

Ocular migraines suck! My eyes are still a little “off” this morning. Let’s hope this thing subsides quickly.
