greatness

“You cannot depend on your words when your heart is out of focus.”  – Peg Bunting

Be genuine in what you say and do — let your words come from your heart and not your head. See with your heart. Look beyond the ordinary. Be specific in what you’re saying. Speak heart to heart.

Make it a greatness filled day!

BE

“Be yourself.  Everyone else is already taken.”  – Unknown

How often do we find ourselves falling in the trap of wanting to be just like “so-and-so”  or admiring the traits and talents of our friends and colleagues?  Hold on! Don’t fall into that pit – remember if you see the traits you admire  in others you already “own” them.  It’s up to you then to magnify them.  BE THEM.  No one else can do the same justice to them as you can.  BE YOU!  They are your gifts, your talents.

Your challenge:
Take an inventory of your traits and talents
How are you using them?  Are you using them?
What can you do to magnify those traits and talents you want to develop or are under-developed?

NOTE:  If you find this challenge difficult, begin with listing 3, 5 or 10 positive traits, attributes or talents you have (or admire in others – remember, if you see them in others, you have ownership of them).

Fuel Up…

“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on
life… The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding
the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain
way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced tha…t life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it.  And so it is with you… we are in charge of our attitudes.”  Charles Swindoll

I may not be able to control certain things that happen day to day… others make choices I have no control over and whether or not I like it, their choices impact my life for good or bad — HOWEVER, I do have the choice in how I will let that moment energize me.  I can choose to use the energy I could waste on “woe is me” to fuel me to new levels of greatness, finding and seeing the things that AREN’T going wrong in the moment.  Where are those Greatness Goggles?  What a great way to spend life thinking!  I can’t think of a better way to look at or learn from those everyday moments.  Fuel Up with a happy attitude — the cost is just the same but the dividends are even greater!
