“Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.” – Unknown
How often do we find ourselves falling in the trap of wanting to be just like “so-and-so” or admiring the traits and talents of our friends and colleagues? Hold on! Don’t fall into that pit – remember if you see the traits you admire in others you already “own” them. It’s up to you then to magnify them. BE THEM. No one else can do the same justice to them as you can. BE YOU! They are your gifts, your talents.
Take an inventory of your traits and talents
How are you using them? Are you using them?
What can you do to magnify those traits and talents you want to develop or are under-developed?
NOTE: If you find this challenge difficult, begin with listing 3, 5 or 10 positive traits, attributes or talents you have (or admire in others – remember, if you see them in others, you have ownership of them).
“As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is, that each of us has something that no one else has — or ever will have — something inside that is unique to all time. It’s our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing its expressions.” Fred Rogers
