greatness

cherish now…

“Children will not remember you for the material things you provided,
but for the feeling that you cherished them.”  Richard L. Evans

While it may seem important to keep up with the Jones’ and get the latest and greatest in technology or style — the greatest gift you can give your child is a treasured, nurturing relationship. It’s never too late.  Start today.

be courageous, stand in your greatness

“It takes courage to push yourself to places that you have never been
before… to test your limits… to break through barriers.”  Anais
Nin

Whether it’s a new goal or something just happening in life that requires you to step beyond the so called “comfort zone,”  your fearlessness is being tested to the limits on a daily basis.  Are you reaching the boundaries or beyond?

There are a myriad of self-help books on the market and motivational seminars we can attend or buy to watch or listen to.  All tell us they can make us “better,”  give us more skills in the  market place or help us with our relationships at the workplace or interpersonal relationships.

Standing in your greatness isn’t always easy. However, since I’ve learned the Greatness Practice that Howard Glasser talks about in his book, You Are Oprah, Igniting the Fires of Greatness (2009);the practice is becoming much easier – it’s definitely worth the “greatness boost” every now and then – you can’t help it!

Set your intention today.  Where are you headed?  Are you self-limiting?  Are you breaking the limits with greatness choices?   Is the journey one of Greatness?

Today, be courageous!  Set your intention and find the gems of greatness that are yours.  It’s a new day – Be Fearless!

service begins with me

“Many acts of service cost nothing and take little time:  encouragement, compliments, listening, gratitude and compassion.  Any time you affirm the worth of others, you serve.”  –Chris Karcher

It takes less physical energy to say something nice, than to complain.  Yet more positive Life energy is generated when we say something positive.  The Nurtured Heart Approach™ techniques offer you even more opportunities to share the joy of service. Watch the face and eyes of someone who is the recipient of a sincere, specific detailed and affirming recognition. Did you see the shift in their posture? Do you feel the energy ripple outward? How does your “heart” feel now?

possibilities

“Everyday holds the possibility of a miracle.”  Unknown

photo credit: Jan HunterWhat will I make of today?  How will I use it?  Will I see the potential of a miracle or two or will I let them slip by because I’m too busy to notice?  Ah, there’s the rub!  Do we get too caught up in the daily hub-bub and forget to smell the roses? Stop to make a phone call or send a note?  I fear I’m just as guilty as the next person at times, but today, I choose to stop, take a deep breath, smell the roses, make two or three phone calls;  even send a couple of  handwritten notes and drop them in the mail.  Today’s the day — will I be someone’s passing thought “It’s a miracle, someone cares about  me?”

Every new day brings new possibilities our way — what will you choose to do today?  Tomorrow or the next?  Have you been the recipient of a miracle recently?  I know I have… more than just a few!  It’s time to give back!  Today’s my day!

“When you wholeheartedly adopt a “with all your heart” attitude and go all out with the positive principle you can do incredible things.”  – Norman Vincent Peale

The Nurtured Heart Approach™ brings us to a new level of recognizing who we are and who others are more powerfully and consistently if we choose to look at them with our “new” eyes and  hearts of greatness.  As we do this — you’ll begin to notice so much more in the way the universe holds GREATNESS out to you.  It’s yours to behold.

“You cannot depend on your words when your heart is out of focus.”  – Peg Bunting

Be genuine in what you say and do — let your words come from your heart and not your head. See with your heart. Look beyond the ordinary. Be specific in what you’re saying. Speak heart to heart.

Make it a greatness filled day!

“All things are possible to a believing heart.”   – Flavia Weeden

One of the miracles in using Nurtured Heart Approach™   is that not only do our children and co-workers benefit from the use of the tools and techniques of Greatness, but we as adults are often the first to “flip and transform.” We can’t help it! Keep going! It’s a beautiful journey.

Take the next 60 seconds and honor yourself for the choices you’ve created and achieved so far today.

BE

“Be yourself.  Everyone else is already taken.”  – Unknown

How often do we find ourselves falling in the trap of wanting to be just like “so-and-so”  or admiring the traits and talents of our friends and colleagues?  Hold on! Don’t fall into that pit – remember if you see the traits you admire  in others you already “own” them.  It’s up to you then to magnify them.  BE THEM.  No one else can do the same justice to them as you can.  BE YOU!  They are your gifts, your talents.

Your challenge:
Take an inventory of your traits and talents
How are you using them?  Are you using them?
What can you do to magnify those traits and talents you want to develop or are under-developed?

NOTE:  If you find this challenge difficult, begin with listing 3, 5 or 10 positive traits, attributes or talents you have (or admire in others – remember, if you see them in others, you have ownership of them).

“Each life is like a letter of the alphabet.  Alone it can be meaningless; or it can be a part of a great(er) meaning.”  – Unknown

Something I have noticed over the years is that there is an increase in caring, concern and love between those who are directly influenced by the application of Nurtured Heart Approach™.  You can’t help but have that happen because your heart is more in tune with what is going on and you see more through your heart – feel more – are more.

Fuel Up…

“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on
life… The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding
the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain
way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced tha…t life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it.  And so it is with you… we are in charge of our attitudes.”  Charles Swindoll

I may not be able to control certain things that happen day to day… others make choices I have no control over and whether or not I like it, their choices impact my life for good or bad — HOWEVER, I do have the choice in how I will let that moment energize me.  I can choose to use the energy I could waste on “woe is me” to fuel me to new levels of greatness, finding and seeing the things that AREN’T going wrong in the moment.  Where are those Greatness Goggles?  What a great way to spend life thinking!  I can’t think of a better way to look at or learn from those everyday moments.  Fuel Up with a happy attitude — the cost is just the same but the dividends are even greater!
